Use the minimum necessary context
Start with the question you need answered, then include only the smallest excerpt required. Full email threads, documents, spreadsheets, and screenshots often contain unrelated private information.
Replace identifiers consistently
Use placeholders such as [CLIENT_A], [EMAIL], [ORDER_ID], and [PRIVATE_URL]. Consistent labels preserve relationships without exposing real values.
Review more than obvious PII
Private information includes access links, internal strategy, customer records, exact locations, rare job titles, and combinations of facts that can identify a person or organization.

Local first pass, human final review
The normal tool workflow runs in the browser using client-side JavaScript. The page itself is loaded from the website, but selected files and pasted content are not sent to a Privacy Toolbox processing API.
